Biggest Fear When Diagnosed
I informed the doctors that I had the rarest form of breast cancer. It took them 18 months to confirm my diagnosis which changed and lengthened my treatment process. So my biggest fear was two fold. Would I be able to forgive the doctors? And as a single mother with extremely modest means how was I going focus on healing and provide for my children since I lost my income?
How did you overcome that fear?
I made a decision to forgive the doctors. As far as providing for my children and staying focused on my healing well that is a story all in itself. The bottom line is I chose to accomplish both of my goals. For example my first challenge was when I came home from my first surgery in the dead of winter, to a broken furnace and broken hot water pipes. I thought my first book would be called "Camping with Cancer", because I had to boil water to stay clean and chop wood to stay warm.
What got you through your cancer experience?
The purest joy and responsibility of being a Mother! I role model everything that I believe is important to teach my children, so my experience with cancer just provided another teaching tool.
What advice would you like to pass on to others?
My advise is to "become the expert of your body and invite other healers to be apart of your healing process". This is an opportunity to regain your power.
What was the most important lesson you learned?
I learned that I am the expert of my body and that I am extremely intuitive. Therefore I will always follow my instincts regardless of others opinions when it comes to my body. I have learned that I have a responsibility to investigate the cause of my cancer and end the cycle.
What would you like to tell other women who are either newly diagnosed or too afraid to seek treatment?
Everything about each one of you is vital to the healing of our sisterhood all over this world. And when we women truely understand our divine loving power we will find the cause of cancer and cure it, among other things.
