Proudest Moment
Moving up to the next level for jumping with a new horse. I had never thought I would be able to do this – it was too scary. After I was told I probably wouldn’t ride again after my surgery, I found a doctor at Dana Farber that said it would be possible and I made sure that I did. I overcame some of my fears, proved the doctors wrong, and found new confidence I didn’t know I had.
Where I look for inspiration
My family, the children at Dana Farber, my best friend, and my horse Peri
What advice would you like to pass on to others?
I have more inner strength and will power that I never knew about.
What would you like to tell other women who are either newly diagnosed or too afraid to seek treatment?
Knowledge is power! Know where you stand, what your condition is so you can face it head on – it may seem very scary at first, but once you take a part in your healing process, I find it is less scary.
